PerioPOC is a point of care test for dentists to identify the 5 most prevalent periodontal pathogens:
• Treponema denticola (Td)
•  Tannerella forsythia (Tf)
• Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg)
• Prevotella intermedia (Pi)
• Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa)
 
These pathogens are well known to cause periodontitis, which is one of the most common infectious diseases and the major cause for dedention.
The assay procedure is simple and does not require any specialized laboratory equipment. The result is generated within 20 minutes, which allows a sensitive chair-side testing and consequent proper treatment.
 
The assay is developed by Genspeed, a company founded in 2016 as a spin-off company of Greiner Bio-One. Genspeed develops and produces IVD-certified rapid testing solutions based on the patented GENSPEED® technology.
